Deleted my Reddit account today.
They've made the website increasingly hard to use over the past few years. Looks like my computer needs a new GPU to be able to render their bloated homepage, and those are too expensive right now.

Software vulnerabilities that reach mainstream media are interesting. There is a small subset of customers that has ignored our pleas for upgrades for years. Now, they suddenly reach out to tell us we have to upgrade. Upgrade PHP only. On their server that has been EOL and completely unsupported for years. All other gaping holes are not important.
Teambuilding! That was the plan, we're busy taking down websites while waiting for PHP patches. What a day.
Greetings from a website that is not affected! 👋
This may be the final version of my personal website. The Internet Archive proves that it existed like this before the LLM era. That must be worth something.
Finally switched my internet connection from coax (DOCSIS 3.1) to fiber today. Took Telenet more than 7 months. Requested a fiber connection in March, after they sent me a card that fiber was available in my street.
No more slow upload speeds!
Have been playing pre-release Wardogs lately. They're resetting all progress soon because the game is still changing too much. Apparently they plan to reset every few months after release. Very sad. That would mean that a casual player like me is stuck with early gear forever.
Just discovered systemd path units. They activate service units, similar to what timer units would do, but their trigger is a change in the filesystem. You can use them to execute some worker code as soon as a job appears in a folder. No need to have cronjobs every minute to check if there's something to do.
